Ginger

Ginger (Zingiber officinale) is best know for its effects on the digestive system.  Ginger will stimulate digestion and ease flatulence.  As an emergency remedy it is excellent to take after dinking impure water or eating bad food.  Taking ginger on a regular basis either chopped up, grated in food or as a tea will help regulate blood cholesterol levels.
