Basil is a useful, versatile herb that has an important function to support the immune system and prevent disease.  It can be used fresh from the garden or as a dried herb in teas and meal dishes. Basil will: 

  • act as an appetite stimulant and digestive aid (Take Basil tea 1 hour before meals).
  • relieve indigestion,vomiting, stomach cramps, constipation.
  • whooping cough.
  • headache.  Clears the head and brain (drink as a tea on a daily basis).
  • eliminates intestinal parasites (take a cup of Basil tea on empty stomach in the morning at least 1 hour before eating).
  • stimulates the immune system to normal function.
  • skin conditions can be treated - ringworm, acne, stings (simmer  for 10 minutes - 1 teaspoonful dried Basil in 1/2 cup Apple cider vinegar.  Dab on affected area or make a compress & bandage area)
  • Female - helps induce labour and increases milk supply
